Currently the scene is: Obeah_Voodoo_Shop in NOLA and it is Night ( The Obeah voodoo shop (Set by: Kaius) )

<M> has his shop open for the evening tourist crowd. Being just off Bourbon Street almost guarantees him a high amount of foot traffic and he has all the tourist-bait knick-knacks, tchatzkies and voodoo history books right up front for them. In the back of the shop he keeps his jars and bundles of fresh and dried herbs and incenses and oils waiting for the serious buyers. He sits out in front of the counter that holds his simple Staples cash

register and speaks with everyone that comes in with a smile.

«~Daedalus~» He had seen M at the Chantry, a bit outside the city, and he had.. heard.. something, at least, of the discussion that was taking place there a few days prior. However, Dae was not too certain about what had been said there, so he was of course on his way to M’s shop, in at least the hope of finding out the rest. Dae would walk in then, careful to not bump into

any existing customers.

<M> stands when Dae walks in just after a couple walks out. He smiles and greets him, “Hey mon! What bring ya to me shop? Ya need some herbs, a tonic or elixir, maybe?” He extends a hand to him.

«~Daedalus~» Dae would give a slight chuckle at hearing those options, though with a slight nod, he’d offer a greeting to M as well, “.. Greetings, my friend; well, to what brings me, I would say I’m a slight curious as to various topics, though of the order of importance I am uncertain, precisely. If I may start; how are you? Or is this a topic that should wait until

later?” With smile, he’d extend his hand to shake M’s.

<M> “Me good, mon. Still breathin’ so dats a bonus, yah?” He moves over to the door and locks it behind Daedalus before flipping the sign to closed. He then steps more inside the shop and waves Dae in as well, “C’mon. If dey see people in dey wan’ come in. Let’s talk in private, yeah?”

«~Daedalus~» “Indeed it is, my friend, indeed it is.. ” His eyes would follow M as he flipped the sign and closed the door, before he waved Dae inwards. Dae of course nodded at this question, “Aye, such would indeed make sense in such a light… Not that I have truly experienced such, as it were, but twould indeed make sense.”

<M> “So why yay come ta see me? It ’bout sometin’ supanatural?”

«~Daedalus~» “I twould say so, at least to some degree or another, for .. well, as you had seen, I twas at that location on the prior day, while you were there as well.. I caught.. the end of the discussion, though I had missed the… meat.. as it were.”

<M> nods, “Yeah. Da house wit’ da mages. I came ta see Jesse and talk ’bout da greenhouse and the herbs and all I asked about gettin’.”

«~Daedalus~» He gave a nod as M clarified the prior discussion, “So I take it then that.. All that was previously hidden, is now not, so to speak?”

<M> “Not sure wha’ all ya mean, mon. I know about Mages and Werewolves fer sure. Given dat, me sure dere so much more dats real dat me ain’t confirmed yet. Me Nan talk about lots o’ tings dat real dat science can’t explain. Seems me find some ‘ere.”

«~Daedalus~» “Well, of what I speak is quite simply that what lie hidden is now illuminated. .. Secrets are not kept, topics are not danced around.. You are brought to the fold, so to speak. Seeing you at that location led me to believe that line of thinking, if I am wrong, I am wrong.. Though at this point I sincerely hope that I am not.”

<M> “Seems ya be dancin’ ’round sometin’ now dat ya wan’ talk ’bout. How ’bout ya just say it and den we talk ’bout it?”

«~Daedalus~» “.. I apologize for my earlier dance; I did not wish to .. expose you to the world which lies underneath, so to speak, without approval, as it were, much less expose you to that which may.. complicate matters, as it were. .. I apologize for my method of speaking, for I at least realize I do talk in circles, though I do not always mean to.”

<M> waves gently but dismissively at Daedalus, “Nah, mon. We all ‘ave our secrets. I want to keep mine buried deep but I still remember dem. Without dem me wouldn’t be who I am. They help mold me, for bettah o’ worse. Now me help try to get you not dancin’. Ya wit’ da mages or ya’ sometin’ else?”

«~Daedalus~» “In some lights, I could be said as being with the mages.. However, such a statement is only accurate when one considers living conditions. That is to say, at the very least, that I live with them, however when it comes to what I am, the ‘something else’ statement stands true, if not the test of time… I know not of the history of what you practice; if I

may inquire, what other creatures exist in such a practice?”

<M> “Voodoo focus most on da ancestor spirits. Whatcya mean creatures?”

«~Daedalus~» “Simply, those of legend. Though if you focus more on spirits, I am uncertain if I can think of the proper wording, as it were, though I shall try. Before I begin, what do you know of werewolves?”

<M> smirks, “Me met one at da Trill. More den dat me not know for sure, apart from dey exist.”

«~Daedalus~» “I see. The one you met at the Trill, if I may inquire.. on what terms did this meeting occur?”

<M> “Him invaded me mind and made me hallucinate while we talk. Den he just turn it off and me back in da Trill wit’ me beer. Evan was his name.”

«~Daedalus~» “Evan.. The name sounds familiar, though the fact that he did that at all is.. I mean, I do not believe such should have happened in the first place.”

<M> shrugs, “Can’t change da past, mon. It happen and me know. Me learn more and it not change tings. Me still me and livin’ me life an’ tryin’ ta be bettah each day den da last.”

«~Daedalus~» “Nay, we cannot.. and even if we could.. that is not a choice I would make, for it may change who I am in the end… And I do agree with your last point.. I am still trying to .. make better on my past mistakes, as it were.”

<M> nods, “Now dat me totally can relate ta.” He takes a deep breath and sighs, “Da past me not a nice man. Me need to be bettah. Much bettah.”

«~Daedalus~» “Aye; we are.. always, trying to outrun our past mistakes.. I know I am, at least.” He breathes out a slow sigh himself, before resuming speaking, “So.. onto.. related topics, if I may.. What do you know of lizards of legend?”

<M> blinks, “Lizards? Not sure whatchya mean, mon.”

«~Daedalus~» “Tales, though I suppose a better question might be what you know of legends at all? I mean.. of at least across this.. grand world we live in, as it were. Though I am uncertain if I had already asked such, earlier.”

<M> “Ya dancin’ ’round sometin’ again, mon. So many round ‘ere have issues wit just askin’ a direct question it seems.”

«~Daedalus~» “Aye, I am, and aye, I do.. Tis difficult for me, but I will try to.. be clear, nevertheless; does the concept of a winged lizard ring any bells, as it were?”

<M> sighs, “Still dancin’.”

«~Daedalus~» “.. I shall outright say it; I am not used to not dancing, as it were, .. but to .. get to the point of the matter, I would say.. I am, well, a dragon of sorts.” As he spoke, his voice almost died down to a whisper as he neared the end of the sentence, as if he was afraid of saying it aloud.

<M> just looks at him for a bit before nodding, “Okay. Me can buy dat. Werewolves and mages an’ all. Ya say ya a dragon me gotta believe ya.”

<M> “Why dat so hard ta say?”

«~Daedalus~» “.. I worry of overstepping my bounds, so to speak. However, you already know of the mages.. thus, it should be alright.”

<M> shrugs, “Me nan tol’ me stories ’bout all sorta o’ stuff. Dragons wasn’t part o’ dem. Given what else she say and what me know it be odd for me not ta recognize dem.”

«~Daedalus~» “Well, as you had said.. I was doing quite a bit of dancing, as it were.”

<M> steps over and claps him on the shoulder, “If ya gon’ call me friend, mon, ya gotta trust me more den dat. Dat word means sometin ta me.”

«~Daedalus~» He didn’t move as he was clapped on the shoulder, only turning his head so he was once again facing M, “.. It means something to me as well, and while I do understand it is a matter of trust, I likely worry too much to begin with.”

<M> “We share dat. Me worry a whole lot ’bout so much. If ya worried me gon’ tell people you a dragon me can promise ta keep dat secret.”

«~Daedalus~» “I thank you for that, though I feel I should note, that aside from my.. parting of said secret, I am.. trustworthy in such a light in other regards, of course.”

<M> “Trust for trust, ya mean, yah?”

«~Daedalus~» “Aye, I do. I apologize for the lack of.. clear wording, as it were.”

<M> “Ya keep me secret like me keep yours?”

«~Daedalus~» “To be clear; I am not attempting to.. force you to part with anything you don’t want to, but if you trust me with such, such is your choice and I will not part with it.”

<M> “Me hurt peopl before. Lots o’ people. Badly. Me was a monsta.” He takes another deep breath and sighs. “Dat’s da old me. He in da past and me wan’ leave ‘im dere. Is why me no fight no more.”

<M> “You da only one dat know dis.”

«~Daedalus~» He’d take in a deep breath, letting it out through his mouth as if he was reminded of something himself, “I could as well, say there was blood on my hands. Blood I regret, as I’m sure you do yours.”

<M> nods, “Yah, mon. Me capable of so much pain, but me no wan’ do dat anymore.”

«~Daedalus~» “I understand.. Believe me, I do.. though sometimes, fate forces our hand.”

<M> “Me not wan’ tink ’bout dat. If dat needed o’ me, me fear me just react and not think. Dat old me still in ‘ere, but me keep ‘im buried.”

«~Daedalus~» “I do not want to truly think of such a thing either.. So how about we change the topic a slight? Is there anything you wish to discuss?”

<M> sighs again, but this time not with such a feeling of emotional baggage, “Well, me know dere so much more out dere, what can ya tell me? Ya say you a dragon, and I know dere be werewolves and mages. What else don’t me know?”

«~Daedalus~» “Not all of us are on the same side, as it were. There are those out there who wish to tip the calm into chaos, if not sew seeds of destruction… I’m still .. learning who they are, precisely. But to say they are not ‘good’ twould truly be an understatement.”

<M> “If me can stop people from gettin’ hurt, me wan’ do it.”

«~Daedalus~» “As do I, though I am more truly a blacksmith.. at least by trade.”

<M> “Me not sure me what me are, but me try ta be a healer like me Nan taught me.”

«~Daedalus~» “A healer tis always a welcome thing, at least in my mind.”

<M> “Well, me hope me can do some good ‘long dose lines.”

«~Daedalus~» “As do I… And well, I hope I can as well, help as I can.”

<M> “Me imagine a dragon help by puttin’ da hurt on people doin’ da bad tings.”

«~Daedalus~» “Well, yes, but at the same time, I didn’t wish to bring up such again, so to speak, for your sake.”

<M> “Mon, me already part o’ dat world now. Best me can do is make sure da spirits be happy wit’ me and look out fo’ me in all dis. You wanna look out fo’ me a little, too, me welcome it and do what me can in return.”

«~Daedalus~» “.. You make a fine point, my friend. However, of a slight note, I should at least say that I do not expect anything in return… I’m just doing my part as well.”

<M> shakes his head, “Nah, mon. You up here callin’ me friend so me treat ya as such. We either friends or we ain’t. Me not ‘ave many friends ‘ere so far so you about da top o’ da list.”

«~Daedalus~» “We are friends, however I try not to charge friends favors, if you understand my meaning.”

<M> “You just nailed it, mon. Friends get favors and not services that have prices.”

«~Daedalus~» “Very well then; I would suppose there’s no escaping that..” Dae gave a slight smile, to ensure it was understand he wasn’t serious about ‘escaping favors’.

<M> nods, “Well, me need to get to bed, mon. Hate ta kick ya out, but it’s about dat time an’ all.”

«~Daedalus~» “I understand; goodnight, my friend, and may you have a good sleep when you eventually get there, yourself.” Dae would offer a slight wave, turning to head to the door.

<M> opens the door to let Dae out, then closes it again and heads off into the back room to bed down for the night after a good conversation with a friend.
