<Storyteller> A darkness sweeps over the entire group, sound and light cease to exist for a moment. When it slowly starts to return, something is terribly wrong. This is not the forest. This is NOT where you were. This is someplace very bad. The walls are black and seem to absorb light, yet there is a faint ambience in the air that is enough to dimly see by.
<Kitt Bishop> whimpers and grabs her head before trying to get her bearings. “What the heck just happened?”
■► Cassian ◄■ looks around, trying to determine exactly where he was, or what plane of reality he was in at this point. He raised auspex, heightened senses. Glancing about, there were a few people still present, but many were now gone from view.
<Storyteller> As the room starts to come into focus, there does not seem to be a door, but a single hatch 25 feet up on the ceiling. There is not much space in the room, and everyone is a bit crowded.
■► Cassian ◄■ glances over at Kitt. “You okay? I can likely fly up there to get us out.”
<Kitt Bishop> sighs and holds her head, looking up at the ceiling. “The spirits aren’t responding to me… and my head hurt really bad. Like in the bunkers…”, she frowns and then doubles over, keeping her hand on her head. “Stop, just stop.”
■► Cassian ◄■ goes over to her and places a hand on her shoulder. “It’s going to be alright. I don’t think we want to stay here though for when whatever it is comes for us. Okay?”
<Kitt Bishop> nods and slowly gets up. She avoids looking directly at him but instead toward the hatch. “Are we sure that is the best way?”
<Kitt Bishop> “It could be herding us where it wants us.”
■► Cassian ◄■ looks around with heightened senses. “It could be, but it is also all I can see and if we stay here, we are no more safe. If we can figure out where we are, we might be able to leave if we can find an opening.”
■► Cassian ◄■ raises his hand and focuses movement of the mind on the hatch, in an attempt to open it.
<Storyteller> The hatch opens up, Cassian’s telekinesis spinning it and pushing it free.
<Kitt Bishop> blinks, “Oh, that’s neat.”
■► Cassian ◄■ smiles softly to her. “You ready to go?”
■► Cassian ◄■ “I can send you up and then me, and we’ll be out of here. Then we can see what we need to out there to move on.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods, still eyeing the opening rather than looking at him. “Sure. I can handle myself if there’s something on the other side.”
■► Cassian ◄■ nods and he would elevate her upward and when she was at the top, he would use his movement of the mind upon himself.
<Kitt Bishop> looks around once outside of the hatch and frowns. She turns on her heightened senses and listens, then frowns again. “This is creepy. It looks like part of the underworld.”
■► Cassian ◄■ had his heightened senses up as well and looks about. “Yes..I concur, that is what it feels like.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “I think we are going to need to try to find what is responsible, or a way around what has done this to leave.”
<Kitt Bishop> yelps again and grabs her head. “It feels like someone is stabbing me in the head.”, she frowns and looks around again. “It did this at the bunkers, where the infernalist alters were.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “Infernalist alters.. ” He frowns and looks thoughtful. “Can you feel where the attack is coming from?”
<Kitt Bishop> frowns and keeps her head down. “I… I might be able to. But you are gonna have to do me a favor.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “What is this favor?”
<Kitt Bishop> “I need you to just turn your back. That’s it.”, she shakes her head a little bit.
■► Cassian ◄■ lofted a brow. He’d then nod and turn his back to her, though he was prepared to react if something bad was going to happen because he did not really know her.
<Kitt Bishop> waits until she is sure he is not looking and then alows her third eye to open, giving it a chance to look around where it wants as it seems to have a bead on the energies in here. She closes her normal eyes and trusts it to lead the way. “Just stay behind me.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “Very well. May I turn now?”
<Kitt Bishop> nods and then speaks up. “Yeah. Just stay behind me.”, her eye emits a light that starts to burn through the fog, making a path for them. She walks slowly, not to seeing this way.
■► Cassian ◄■ follows behind her, keeping his senses peeled but well, they seemed rather useless with the draining fog. He was curious about the light from the center of her forehead and might come to some conclusions eventually here.
<Kitt Bishop> keeps walking and the fog starts to go from gray to black, though the light keeps shining forward. “Not sure if this is better or worse.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “I am not either. I have never had such studies yet of this far into wherever we are.”
<Kitt Bishop> frowns as the darkness closes in save for the light coming from her. She reaches back and grabs Cassian so as not to lose him in the dark. “It’s like a bad dream I cant quite remember.”
■► Cassian ◄■ holds onto her hand, and looks about, being mindful. His other hand goes to his sword hilt. “I have not seen something like this before.. but we will face it together.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods faintly and keeps pressing forward. The light from in front of her expands and surrounds them both protectively. The faint blue glow keeping back the darkness on all sides. “Don’t step away from me or you won’t be able to get back inside the light safely.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “So you know..this is the same demon that was faced and was with Cornel. This is some shard realm… like that.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “Like the prison.” He stays in the bright light. “I get the light you are doing as well.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods her head slowly. “The light will protect us so long as we don’t attack first.”
■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “understood.”
<Storyteller> Sounds of things moving in the darkness just outside the light start to come in range of their hearing. But they stay out of the light.
■► Cassian ◄■ “In hind sight, this probably was not the right way to go.” he smirked slightly, but continued on. “But..maybe we can find the way to disrupt this realm and find our way out then.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods her head a bit and keeps listening to the creatures but ensures they don’t get too close. “Well, on the bright side, it may be safe to say there is no sunlight in this place… so we don’t have to sleep, right?”
■► Cassian ◄■ “Yes, I think that may be one of the very few things to our advantage right about now.”
<Kitt Bishop> sighs a bit but presses on, determined to go through whatever was here. “Aside from the uh, barrier I don’t really have any defenses to speak of. My Thaumaturical studies involve talking to plants and furniture of which there are none. What about you?”
■► Cassian ◄■ “I have some things up, but not sure how well they will work here. I deal more with wards and investigative things.. and offenses. I suppose we shall have to do our best here though with what we have. We are in a prison of sorts.. I do wonder if we could find the trail of prey.. if that would help us to get out of this.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods a bit at that. “I have studied some wards as well…”, she pauses and then slowly changes direction. “That depends on what we are following. If it’s something alive-ish then that might work.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “Well, it’s worth the try to put it together as we go here. If it doesn’t work, ah well.” * starts getting things together for it. “So, can we walk more along side one another or are you going to keep trying to hide your secret?”
<Kitt Bishop> sighs, and moves her sachel around to the other side, “I have some stuff too if we need it.”, she frowns a little bit, and shrugs. “I guess at this point it doesn’t entirely matter.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “We’re kind of stuck with each other. It could be worse though.”
<Kitt Bishop> turns and glances toward him, her third eye glowly brightly as it maintains the shield around them still. “Yeah, Zaluut could be here. That’d make things complicated.”
■► Cassian ◄■ looks at her and nods and would step up to walk more alongside her. “It would, but your secret is safe with me, Kitt.”
■► Cassian ◄■ continues getting components while still holding her hand. “So.. you enjoy thaumaturgy?”
<Kitt Bishop> nods her head. “Yeah. I was pretty good at sorcery before I ran into Zaluut.”, she frowns a little and looks around them at the dark briefly. “I was at the Chantry when Brandon tried to make that thing. I remember Isabo holding the door when it crashed through the wall and fled.”
■► Cassian ◄■ frowns slightly and nods. “You were human then not so long ago. What Brandon did was foolish and we obviously did not find the being we needed to, but we will when we get out of here. It did not attack you, did it?”
<Kitt Bishop> shakes her head. “No. Another of Isabo’s students and I went looking in the forest during the day and got too close to Zaluut’s place without knowing what it was. We got trapped there until after sundown. The other person, jason, he threatened Zaluut… and Zaluut killed him. After feeding on me he let me go after a couple days. I started to go back but then
the Gargoyle arrived, and the plague started and I couldn’t stay there. So Halloween last year the Sabbat were doing some big ritae and I went there with Zaluut. So guess it’s been just over a year now.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “A plague.. and do you mean Petri? It seems quite a bit happened to you that involved both Tremere and Sabbat.. and then this demon stuff.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods her head. “Yeah, a Tremere named Kenneth released some zombie virus by accident, poor Isabo couldn’t keep up with all of them. And Petri, yeah. I took him some toys when I was there.”, she makes a bit of a face. “You can’t tell Zaluut I told you I had been at the Chantry. Part of why I am not supposed to go to New Orleans, a lot of the Tremere would know
■► Cassian ◄■ nods, seeming slightly surprised. “So.. if you are Zaluut’s childe.. how did you get the eye?”
<Kitt Bishop> smirks just slightly, “I think that was part of why Zaluut Embraced me, I think he liked the irony.”, she sighs a little bit. “It… it wasn’t his vitae he used but that of ‘an old friend’. Someone he knew a long time ago. Before the Tremere came along. Why he doesn’t like you very much.”
■► Cassian ◄■ “There are some crimes of old that are rather detestful that were done to that Clan in particular by mine. Nothing can really change that.” He seems saddened. “There are just some things that are bizarre. I try to understand but exploring some things too deeply is a danger too.”
<Kitt Bishop> nods again faintly and squeezes his hand. “While i don’t intend to run full tilt into the world and shout here I am, I can’t live unable to trust people either. I have to believe there is some redemption for everybody. Besides, everybody is different, their own person with their own choices.”
