Robert makes his way into the Trill and looks around at those inside before moving toward the back and taking over a booth, setting up his laptop in front of him. He mumbles a little bit to himself and sighs, just avoiding eye contact with those present.

ͼConradͽ heads to one of the back booths and resumes reading his book.

<Alison Spektor> walks in and looks around before homing in on Robert and sitting down across from him. “Hello, Robert. How are you?”

Robert blinks as he hears someone say his name and he peers over the top of the laptop at her. “Oh, hey, Alice. I’m okay. Kinda feel like my hanging around Lynn is getting on her nerves so came to do a little work elsewhere.”

<Zane Calbeni> comes from the back room smelling lightly of weed and fairly mellow as he scans the room and then goes over to talk to Erik at the bar.

φCadeφ walks into the Trill with his coat tightly wrapped around him as a bulwark against the breeze. He orders his usual beer at the bar from Erik then turns to Zane. “Hey man, how’s your night going?”

<Zane Calbeni> nods to Cade and smirks before glancing to Robert and Alice. “You guys having like a club meeting or something in here?”

φCadeφ follows Zane’s gaze then his jaw drops and he points at Alice. “I KNEW I didn’t imagine you!”

<Alison Spektor> blinks as she looks back at Cade. “No, I am fairly sure I am real.”

Robert looks over at Cade curiously for a moment. “Hi…”, he looks to Alice. “Friend of yours?”

<Alison Spektor> thinks for a moment and then nods. “He is seeking Saturn like you are. So, I guess so?”

φCadeφ quickly walks over to sit with Robert and Alice. “Ramirez and crew kept claiming to have no idea who you are. I thought I was losing my mind, especially with everything else that has been happening.”

<Zane Calbeni> just shakes his head and after finishing up with Erik goes to put his feet up in his personal booth in the back.

Robert looks over at Cade… “Ramirez… Oh, I remember him. Well, I haven’t made much headway yet.”

<Alison Spektor> taps her feet lightly under the table. “That’s okay. Steps forward are good, no matter how small.”

φCadeφ cocks his head at the two of them inquisitively. “What in the world are you two talking about?”

Robert looks at Cade. “The lady in the computer? The one deep in the network?”, he then looks over at Alice as if asking if she is sure he is one of them.

<Alison Spektor> nods. “He has contacted Saturn. He was naughty and exposed himself to the full spectrum, but he seems to be okay.”

φCadeφ nods and gets a faraway look in his eye. “Oh yeah…Saturn? Yeah…we met it was…glorious. Made my nose bleed and colors tasted funny for a little while but…totally worth it.”

Robert nods. “Damn cats are watching my place. Lynn scared them off but they keep coming back.”

φCadeφ nods back. “Yeah they keep watching me too. What is the deal with that anyways?”

<Alison Spektor> nods and frowns. “Mrs Maple. She doesn’t like Saturn. We have to be careful of the old man in the top hat too. He could mess things up.”

φCadeφ frowns for a moment. “Mrs. Maple? Who is that? And what does Deveraux have to do with any of it?”

Robert thinks, “Oh, I have heard Lynn talk about her. She’s a Malkavian Elder.”

<Alison Spektor> shushes Cade, putting a finger on his lips. “Shhh. Don’t even say his name. We should be cautious is all. I don’t think he understands computers stuff though so we have that.”

φCadeφ nods slowly, still a bit confused but not wanting to argue. “Ok ok…should we just call him Mister D then? And you’re probably right, he seems pretty old fashioned”

Robert looks confused. “I don’t think I’ve met this guy.”

<Alison Spektor> nods to Robert. “You will. He’s watching things. He will likely be here for the meeting.”

Robert sighs. “Oh, yay. I was trying to get out of that but Lynn says it’

ll be good for me.”

<Deveraux> pushes the heavy door open and steps in, closing it behind him. He glances about quickly, and upon spying Zane in his booth heads straight over.

<Zane Calbeni> looks up from his book where he was relaxing and shifts his feet to give Deveraux a place to sit.

<Alison Spektor> leans over to Robert and whispers, “That was him.”

Robert watches the guy go by even as he nods to Alice. “Well he doesn’t look that scary. I don’t get what the big deal is.”

<Deveraux> takes his tophat off and sets it on the table as he sits, resting his outside hand on the top of his black walking stick. “Thank you, Zane. I was hoping we could speak more about Samson. Is now a good time?” He keeps his voice discreet but not a whisper.

<Zane Calbeni> nods to him and sits up, his jacket laying beside him in the booth. “Sure. I kinda figured you’d be back. What exactly do you want to know?”

φCadeφ leans in to whisper to the other two, somewhat enjoying the conspiratorial air. “He seems like he is super old, which with vampires means he’s probably also super powerful.”

<Deveraux> “What is his position in the area? Does he seek your station? General control over the clan? How many follows are under him? Things like that.”

Robert blinks and glances to Cade, then to his monitor and shakes his head. “I don’t know about that… I guess so though.”

φCadeφ shrugs and leans back just a bit. “I dunno for sure man. But he makes Alice nervous, and since they are both the same sort of thing, I’ll go with her instincts on this one.”

<Zane Calbeni> nods a bit and leans back in his seat, knowing his booth’s shape and location make it hard to listen in on anything there anyway. “He’s the local Anarch Baron. He doesn’t want my job, he’d prefer my head. Because I try to guide our clan toward knowledge. There’s at least as many of them as us, roughly a dozen. The Sabbat went in and riled them up,

<Zane Calbeni> disguised as local Tremere… and Samson has been taking aim with some sort of weapon at them, which we recently learned was demon blood. Not sure what he plans to do with it but it can’t be good.”

<Alison Spektor> shakes her head. “He doesn’t make me nervous. Saturn says he knows too much. That makes me nervous.”

ͼConradͽ gets up and taps the table that Zane and Deveraux are at. “I’ll be right back gentleman I’m feeling a bit peckish.” He then proceeds outside and into a parking lot where he can quickly do a couple rituals without being seen or disturbed before setting off to hunt.

<Deveraux> “Demons are not to be trifled with. Now he has my attention. What is his full name, and do you have a picture I may look at?”

φCadeφ glances around to make sure that Deveraux is still paying them no mind. “So…how exactly did Saturn come about?”

<Zane Calbeni> shakes his head. “No, most of my conversations with him have ended with me having to run. He’s stronger than me but I am faster than him. When we did push back he hid behind some defenseles speople and pretty much holds them hostage so we won’t go in after him.”

<Deveraux> “Human shields?”

<Zane Calbeni> nods, frowning. “Yeah, part of what we are covering at the meeting is covering the Tremere and getting the humans out of there. We have enough Presence between us to counteract anything they can put out and get the people to safety.”

<Deveraux> nods, “I must think on this. If you would be kind enough to draw up a description of where they are being held I would appreciate it. For now, I must depart.” He slides out of the booth and picks his tophat up and then sets it back on his ead, “Thank you for the conversation, Zane. Good evening.” He bows slightly as he usually does, then heads straight for the door to exit.

<Alison Spektor> looks over to Cade and shrugs a little. “She’s old too. Like the Hatter. She went to sleep for a while and while she was asleep she found a way to get more information faster. So that is what she has been doing, learning.”

<Zane Calbeni> nods and waves. “I’ll leave it with Erik if I am not here.”

φCadeφ furrows his eyebrows, confused and trying to puzzle out what this all means. “Odd. Perhaps she is some sort of spirit? That would seem to make the most sense, and would also make her quite similar to Hecatrix, which, if true, would be most fortunate because that could give me a baseline to work with should she ever need help, as well as ways to make interaction easier.”

Robert watches the man leave and then goes back to looking at his monitor again. “Well at least he left us alone.”

<Alison Spektor> shrugs a bit. “She says she lost her physical form. But that is what Robert has been looking for.”

φCadeφ frowns now and strokes his chin. “Odd…could be an old one of you guys…or perhaps an ancient Archmage? Hmmm…curious.” He drums his fingers on the table a few times then is distracted for a moment by a message from Hecatrix. “Ah yes…Hec reminded me that I should ask you if you know of any reason why I might have been hearing a voice in my head after we met? It only

happened once, not long after I first ran into you. I was trying to talk to Ramirez and a few others from the Chantry about you and none of them seemed to know you, and then I started hearing a voice in my head.”

<Alison Spektor> nods and frowns slightly. “Yes, that was likely a reaction to her trying to initially contact you.”

Robert looks up, and between the two of them. “Yeah… that sounds highly unpleasent.”

φCadeφ nods his head slowly. “Ah I see, that makes sense. And yeah, it was a bit weird. Honestly if I had known what was going on it wouldn’t have been so bad. It was the unexpectdedness that really trew me for a loop. So how did you two meet her?”

ͼConradͽ comes back in from outside and dabs the corners of his mouth with a handkerchief before heading over to sit with Zane. “Ah, I see our mutual friend took his leave. I really must convince him to teach me that trick.”

Robert shrugs without looking away from his screen. “The network contacted me, and then I met Alice and started getting more messages.”

<Alison Spektor> thinks about it and then shrugs as well. “I am pretty sure we are related.”

<Zane Calbeni> chuckles faintly and shakes his head. “Yeah, good luck with that.”

φCadeφ eyes Alice for a long moment, thinking. “As in she is one of your…oh what do you guys call them. Not tribes…uh…brood? No that’s not right. You know what I mean.”

Robert pipes up without looking up. “Clan. So if you aren’t one of us… then you are… one of those Mages? Since you said something about Ramirez?”

ͼConradͽ smiles and shakes his head a bit. “Oh I’ll not get my hopes up. I’m well aware that the sharing of knowledge and powers is not nearly as common among other Kindred as it is in my clan.” He sighs and glances around for a moment. “So would it be safe to assume you briefed Deveraux on our little Anarch problem?”

<Zane Calbeni> “I do not think it is that, just that since the Tremere don’t believe in sharing he may not be inclined either.”

<Zane Calbeni> “And yes, and he seems to be very displeased with the situation as well. Which makes me feel better.”

ͼConradͽ laughs at the first comment and nods his head. “Yes, we aren’t particularly well known for sharing our toys with those outside our blood. I too am relieved to hear that he falls on our side of the issue. It would have been a…disturbing development had he not.”

<Zane Calbeni> nods and looks off toward the door a moment. “Well, Lynn vouched for him so… I didn’t figure he had too much in common with the Sabbat.”

ͼConradͽ frowns and drums his fingers on the table for a moment. “Yes…I must say that his forrays into Sabbat territory are…a bit disconcerting at the least. However, when dealing with someone such as Deveraux it is best to pick one’s battles. No point in starting a confrontation with him unless there is a very solid reason to do so.”

<Zane Calbeni> chuckles a little. “I imagine they must be having fun trying to figure him out as well.”

ͼConradͽ chuckles back. “Yes, that is some small comfort at least. I suppose we are liable to find out one way or the other on Friday.”

<Alison Spektor> “Yeah, he’s one of those that can see things as they really are.”

φCadeφ smiles and bobs his head, taking a swig of the beer he’d nearly forgotten about. “Yep yep. I’m a Mage. Order of Hermes to be exact. I’m not exactly what you would call ‘experienced’ though. Most of what I can do is small and subtle.”

Robert blinks a bit but then nods. “Well, not really sure what that is aside from Hermes being a Greek God…”

φCadeφ giggles and takes another drink. “Our version of Clan basically. Every Mage belongs to a…well we call them Tradition but that’s not the term all of us use. Different Traditions practice magick in different ways and with varying focuses.”

<Alison Spektor> smirks. “It really is all the same.”

A faint alarm goes off and Robert sighs and closes the laptop. “I gotta go.”, he says as he shuts off the phone. “I’ll see you guys around… and I’ll keep looking into it.”

φCadeφ laughs and takes another drink. “Later man!” He turns to Alice. “So what have you been up to since last we met?”

<Alison Spektor> waves to Robert as he leaves and then shrugs a bit at Cade’s question, tapping her feet. “Not much. Writing music. The usual really.”

φCadeφ perks up a bit. “You write music? That’s pretty cool. I assume then that you also play an instrument or sing or something?”

<Alison Spektor> nods a bit at that. “I play the piano. I have a youtube channel for it.”

φCadeφ takes another drink and grins. “Really? I’d love to see it. What’s your YouTube handle? I’ll look it up later.”

<Alison Spektor> writes it down and passes it over to Cade. “Here you go. Like, I don’t show my face, just my hands… but I write all the music.”

φCadeφ smiles and finishes the beer. “That’s pretty cool! I never learned to play any instruments or anything. Aunt Lucinda wanted me to bu-u-ut I did some computer work for my teacher to get him to tell her I was unteachable. It was cutting into my video game time.” He giggles and shakes his head.

<Alison Spektor> just shakes her head at that. “Well, music is it’s own language.”

φCadeφ nods in agreement. “Yeah, I did end up learning how to read it later as part of an encryption program I was writing. Made me regret not taking the time to learn an instrument when I was younger. I suppose I could do so now but I’ve been rather busy the past couple years so it really just hasn’t been a priority.”

<Alison Spektor> wrinkles her nose and looks at him. “That is no good. You should learn! I can teach you.”

φCadeφ smiles wide and nods enthusiastically. “That would be cool! It’d give me something to do besides study and watch Netflix or play video games.”

<Alison Spektor> chuckles and gets up. “Okay then. I will see you around then. I should get moving before the cats find me here.”

φCadeφ looks at her with wide eyes. “Oh yeah…the cats. Umm…is there a special way to avoid them? Cause they seem to be following me everywhere.”

<Alison Spektor> tilts her head as she thinks about it. “I don’t know… I was helping Dan learn how to trick peoples’ minds into ignoring him like I do… that might work for you too. We’ll talk about it later.”

φCadeφ nods and waves. “Sure thing.”
