¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ padded through the forest, sniffing here or there, looking about, meandering through the forest.

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ was a big black wolf with silver streaks here or there in his fur, and gleaming eyes.

::Maryska is out in the woods just for a bit of personal camping, she wasn’t sure why she wanted to come out this way, but it felt like she just needed some time away from the bustling city and needed to get out, it was an aimless direction she’d gone, a place without specific destinations, a place without a need to be anywhere with anyone, she had a fire, she had a couple of rabbits, and she was just kicking back with her

feet up on a rock, her back against a tree, while she occasionally turned the spit.::

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ , noticing Maryska had shown up, made his way over to her, emerging through the threes and brush to stare at her from the other side of the fire. He bobbed his head once to her.

::Maryska looked through the fire and nodded to the wolf that showed up.:: “Well, here’s my inductor, what’s going on Ethan? care to join me for some rabbit?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ shifts after a moment and nods. “Sure. How are you doing? Been a while since I’ve seen you.”

::Maryska nods and turns the spit again.:: “Been alright, I get into the Trill when I can, I’ve been working mostly, minor work, deliveries.” she reaches into a pack she has with her and pulls out a beer dangling it to offer it to him. “Drink?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “Sure.” He’d go sit down not so far from her at the fire. “You should come meet some other people and hang out.”

::Maryska handed him a beer and nodded, her sunglasses were still on, she never really seemed to take them off.:: “Not sure where to go, I came to New Orleans, but I really didn’t have any idea of where anything is besides that…chantry place, I met a couple of those, mage types, a couple vampires, no other shifters to my knowledge b’sides you.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ accepts the beer and pops it open, drinking about half the contents. He was apparently somewhat thirsty. “Ahh, thanks. I stay there for now too. The Mages are pretty cool to let us be there and the vampires…some of them live right next door.”

::Maryska nods, sipping her own beer.:: “Haven’t run into any asshole vampires really, not here anyway.” ::Maryska just pulls the spit off the fire, grabs one of the rabbits, pulls it off and then hands Ethan the spit with the other rabbit.:: “Keeping my eye out though, heard whispers of some rotten things around here, but apparently some of them were taken care of while I was busy.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ takes the other stick. “There can be. There are foul effects of some darker creatures, though the corrupted werewolf at least was defeated. I think the Setites ran away for now.”

::Maryska nods:: “You have my number, if anything comes around again, give me a call, I’m always up for a fight, but that aside what else is going on?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “Are you up for going into the umbra to help find a sacred place that is out here somewhere?”

::Maryska nods and takes a bite of her rabbit and then a sip of her beer.:: “Absolutely, when were you thinking?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “Probably sometime next week. If we can find the location and cleanse it, we might be able to use it as a potential caern.”

::Maryska nods and looks around:: “Well I’ll be available, and I can help find a spot that should be no problem.” she takes another chunk of the cooked rabbit, chewing it she looks at Ethan. “I’m interested in these mage people, what do they do really?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “They are connected to.. avatars, they call them and they are awakened beings that can draw on magic to do various things.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “They seem to be unique in that a couple of them really like computers and can do some pretty amazing things with them and another has a ray gun and can do some reinforcement of clothes and cool stuff and another one deals with the dead.”

::Maryska nods.:: “so..like our people in a way.” she says to sort of simplify the answer. “with all of that, and I assume you have experience with them, can they be trusted?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “The ones here have been good. They do say they have enemies though. Something called the Technocratic Union and well, not all Mages get along like they do. I trust them though. They have been helping me against some very bad things. I don’t really come from this…time or place like other Shifters might. Daedalus didn’t either. We were

both prisoners for decades..a couple hundred years.”

::Maryska nods slowly.:: “You still have a little tell tale of anachronism, but manners are timeless.” ::She smirks and hands him another beer.:: “I’d imagine they’re just like anyone else, personal agenda’s, personal goals, and just as good as anyone else.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ takes the beer and cracks the can open. “Thank you. I was raised properly even if it was messed up.”

::Maryska smiles.:: “Can’t imagine anyone born like us being brought up like normal people.” ::She sips her beer and licks her lips as she rests the remainder of her rabbit in a pot and puts a lid on it. “What were your plans for tonight?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “Your family knew what you were, right?”

::Maryska nods:: “Our family has a curse on it, none of our line may find their true potential until the price is paid…time has taken knowledge of what we have to do to lift the curse, but yes, I’m a garou that can’t shift, they told me.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ nods. “My dad knew… and he thought that my brother who was older would inherit the Garou…but he didn’t. It had skipped a few generations but supposedly the ones who would inherit it were the first borns, so they said. I guess that was just what they wanted though. No one expected me to get it so… they never told me jack shit about

it until after it happened.”

::Maryska nods.:: “Well, now you know, and know more than you did, and now you’re a garou out of his original time, take what you have, move forward, the past is far behind you now.” she sips her beer and looks up at the sky. “what happened can either help you keep going, or hold you back, up to you.” she looks at him with a grin. “When were you born anyway?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “1785. It was definitely a different time then..but you know.. it ain’t that much different in some ways. Technology sure has improved but some things are still the same, like how you can deal with people.”

::Maryska nods.:: “civilization changes only slightly, it becomes more self aware, I’m tired of the victims though, nothing happens when you sit and pout about being slandered.” she sighs and sips her beer some more, looking at the surrounding night. “1785….hell of a time.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “It was back then out west. We had a ranch and cattle. I was pretty bored when I wasn’t working. We’re both Shadow Lords.. kinda funny. You’re the first one I’ve ever met out here that wasn’t my family’s bloodline.”

::Maryska smirks.:: “My family owns a ranch in Texas, big farm, moved here from the Ukraine.” she looks at him again. “is in the blood I suppose.” :she holds her can out to him for a small clashing of cans in warm spirit. “Well, lets stick together, two storm crows together can put some hurt on some corruption…yes?”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “Interesting. That’s where my family ranch was. We were in Texas and went out to Arizona for land there. Maybe our lines are somehow connected.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ tapped the can he had against hers. “Salut.”

::Maryska shakes her head slowly:: “Not likely, they moved here just over 20 years ago, I was born in Texas just after we moved here.” *She takes her sunglasses off and rubs her eyes and hten puts the glasses back on again.* “The only thing I can think we share, is that we might own part of the land or near the land your farm was on.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “Still kind of interesting, especially with the decline in Shifters over the last few hundred years.”

::Maryska nods.:: “Gaia has a way of bringing things back when she needs them.” she rolls her shoulder and takes another sip of her beer. “Might be a resurgence.”

¤ ֎ Ethan Talbot ֎ ¤ “It might. Either way, we need to be prepared and get some things more in our favor in this place.”
