■► Cassian ◄■ meanders to the university to go to the library for some investigative books and medicine books.

<Erin Summers> is sitting in the library with a few different books about her, most of them on architecture and history. Despite sitting off in a corner to herself she somehow still manages to catch the eye and draw attention.

■► Cassian ◄■ gathers up the forensics and medical books and then notes Erin, who just can’t seem to be incognito ever anymore. It must be slightly annoying to her. He walks over to her and sets down on the opposite side of the table from her, settling into a chair. “Hello, Erin.”

<Erin Summers> glances up and smiles at Cassian warmly. “Hello, Doc. Doing some studying?”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “Yes, it’s good to update myself on current methodology for surgical procedures and forensics. What are you doing?”

<Erin Summers> “Following memories.”, she says as she flips through a couple of pages in one of the books. “I can remember drawing plans for buildings and tombs.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “That’s interesting. Is there something of note that sticks out to you to research in the modern day?”

<Erin Summers> shakes her head and sighs. “No, and it’s driving me crazy. I am not used to having gaps in my memory. I remember all of my life but hers is just bits and pieces.”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “Well, fortunately Egyptians were good at record keeping, even their tragic events, but unfortunately, it’s been some time since they were about. Are you just looking to fill in blanks by searching for what your other half might have designed back when? I’d probably try to go through indexes of archaeological sites and excavations. Some

of them are well archived and even have walkthrough videos or pictures. Maybe you could tell what is hers.”

<Erin Summers> nods her head faintly. “Yeah, maybe. I will give it a go anyway. I also needed a break from researching other things. And does me some good to get out and move around a bit.”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “I can try to look up your other name through connections I have on the other side. It might produce something for you to follow.”

<Erin Summers> shakes her head softly, causing her sunny-colored hair to bounce a bit about her shoulder. “Thanks, but that’s alright. So how have you been?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Alright. I’ve been busy somewhat investigating what exactly we are up against with some recent events, but other than those things, life is going well. How are you doing lately?”

<Erin Summers> sighs. “Mostly alright. I find myself somewhat restless, though even old things are new again in some ways. And somewhat stuck between trying to balance enjoying life and handling greater tasks at hand.”

Sparks heads into the campus the women just hanging out after she’s gotten her new job? Maybe I should be talking to ops on that but either way she’s out there enjoying a milkshake from a nearby Dairy Queen.

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “I can understand that. It must be a truly unique thing to experience. You seem to be doing well with it so far. What are the ups and downs you’ve noticed?”

<Erin Summers> looks thoughtful. “Well, everything is more intense. Which is both good and bad. Good things are amazing and bad things are…”, she shudders. “I seem to have some sort of unnatural aura that causes people to pay attention to me, but at the same time, it seems to make talking to spirits easier. Supposedly I can’t die, or it’s temporary but I prefer not to test it if

I don’t have to. Stuff still hurts.”

■► Cassian ◄■ smirks slightly. “Well those are some interesting perks, though yes, I can see the downside to it as well. I have noticed that about you…that you stand out more to others than prior, in particular. I do hope you enjoy the good sensations since you can experience them stronger.”

<Erin Summers> looks down at her books for a moment before her face turns completely red as a stray memory crosses her mind. “Yeah… there is that perk. And my study of sorcery is coming along as well.”

Sparks comes over to Erin and the others the women just sipping her milkshake and watching she doesn’t want to interrupt any conversations

■► Cassian ◄■ watches her expression with some curiosity gleaming in his eyes. He seldom bothered to hide when he was inspired by curiosity and the blush just told so much and yet not enough. He’d glance up at Sparks and study her a moment. “Hello there.”

<Erin Summers> glances up, allowing Sparks to distract her thoughts enough to let the blush face from her face. “Evening, Sparks. You getting things sorted out?”

■► Cassian ◄■ is a bit disappointed that he can’t ask what she was blushing about…but he’d remember to eventually inquire later.

“I’m doing well things are going decently enough have just been hanging out got my employment situation taken care of, I suppose dating might be something I’ll have to consider doing at some point as that is something I never got to do in my last life so I plan to do that.”

Sparks: ^

<Erin Summers> raises an eyebrow but then nods. “Oh, that’s pretty cool. Glad you are doing better then.”

Sparks: It’s been a good time also started up Morrowind again but I’ve been so busy I barely get a chance to really get into it…this surprisingly is a good thing

fad lad tad mad jaaaa dod

■► Cassian ◄■ “Well that’s a game that can keep one entertained for a while.”

Sparks: For hundreds and hundreds of hours

<Erin Summers> tilts her head a bit as she looks at Sparks, then chortles softly. “To each their own I suppose.”

Sparks: Indeed do you often do much gaming yourself, I am at a low point at gaming hours though

<Erin Summers> shakes her head a little bit, bouncing her hair once more. “Not really. I do play a little though.”, she looks to Cassian and giggles a bit. “I am decent at racing.”

■► Cassian ◄■ smirks. “Racing. Sounds fun.” He looks at Sparks. “I do some games here or there, but time is always a factor. I have less hours in my day than most people do, depending on the time of year.”

Sparks: Well you know how things are now that you are working it’s a lot less time for gaming but a lot of time to get your ass out of the house which is nice.

■► Cassian ◄■ “I like my work. It keeps me in and out of trouble at the same time.”

<Erin Summers> laughs lightly. “I could say the same.”

Sparks: “Keeping out of trouble is nice I never liked to be in trouble much…although I never said I’d be against it either.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “When you are in this world…trouble will find you. Might as well make your own healthy dose of it to be aware before that thing finds you.”

Sparks: thats true perhaps I should go find me more trouble

■► Cassian ◄■ “You don’t have to find it. It’s always around. I like creating some of my own so that way it confuses people.”

<Erin Summers> glances between them and just shakes her head softly. “It keeps life interesting.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “It does and it usually means I know things before others do. So…what kind of Amenti are you, Sparks?”

Sparks: “Kher-minu.” She says this expecting folks to know things outside their nick name which is vastly easier to remember by the way.

<Erin Summers> tilts her head, going through her own mental files and then shrugs.

■► Cassian ◄■ “Interesting. Not sure exactly what that defines you as.”

Sparks: A Tomb Watcher?

■► Cassian ◄■ “Oh, right.” He smirked. “So how do you like the city so far?”

Sparks: big feels big maybe too big

<Zoelie> decides to go on down to the university library to people watch…er study. she brings her ever present crochet bag full of tablet and other techie paraphenalia

<Erin Summers> nods softly. “I think i recalls some bits on that… but I need to do more research obviously.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I like this city. Every city has its legends and stories..it’s foundations too, that make them unique. This one is dark and mysterious and yet also so open at the same time if someone knows how to look at it.”

Sparks: apparently but nobody knows everything so I can’t blame nobody on it

■► Cassian ◄■ “Is there something you want to know?”

<Erin Summers> and the others are off in a corner… but… Erin tends to draw immediate attention so is liekly the first thing noticed inside the room.

Sparks: not yet first I’m trying to put my life back together

<Zoelie> walks in quietly and looks around the library, smirks a bit as she notices erin over there and just observes for a moment, curious about how she compares to the data gathered the last time she saw erin.

■► Cassian ◄■ waves to Zoelie and then looks back at Sparks. “What is it you do for a living?”

<Zoelie> catches cassian’s gesture and leaves off studying erin, smiles and waves. heads over to their nook

<Erin Summers> perks up and waves to Zoelie as she approaches.

<Zoelie> “Hey y’all, how you doin? what are you studyin together over here in this little corner? Glad to see you made it out of the house, Sparks.”

Sparks: well I’m working at the aquarium

Sparks: thank you once and a while I do try and get out

■► Cassian ◄■ “I am researching medicinal and forensics studies, since I will have to take an exam eventually to rise to the next level of my experience as a doctor.”

<Erin Summers> chuckles. “I was here looking at some historical books on architecture.”

Sparks: “well I wish you luck on becoming a better doctor god knows we need more of them.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “It’s not so hard really. Just need a steady mind and a steady brain, and to be able to think fast when things do not go the way they ‘should’. Most of the time it’s rather predictable and easy.”

<Zoelie> “Oh y’all are so dedicated, and here i am just watching people and wondering how to suck all this knowledge up in the vacuum of digital storage in one swell foop.”

<Erin Summers> grins a bit at Zoelie. “I can understand that feeling, except it wasn’t digital storage, it was in my head. I wanted to know everything there was to know.”

<Zoelie> raises an eyebrow “You using the past tense?”

<Zoelie> “What changed?”

<Zoelie> tilts her head “And who says digital storage can’t also be in my head?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I can understand that. I do love to seek knowledge of various sorts of things. I’ve had to reinvent myself some here or there recently so it does good to study for a set occupation, since I have decided to stay here…and so hasn’t my order.”

Sparks: I’d study more but I get easily distracted

<Erin Summers> shrugs softly. “I don’t know. Shift in priorities… and now there is no rush?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I study various things because they are there to study and sometimes I get bored just hanging onto one thing. I’ve never been one to just focus singularly on something unless I was ordered to and even then, my mind wanders to greater heights.”

<Zoelie> “yeah i think trying to box in a mind is to break it. better to let it wander and do its thing than try to chain it down, force it to stay on one path. i don’t think a mind that has any complexity and sophistication to it can really work that way, let alone thrive and create.”

<Zoelie> looks at erin a bit oddly “No rush, huh? I’m always feeling the pressure.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Some people do well with that order, and I probably do too, as it has taught me some valuable things like ‘how’ to study certain things that should not be studied, if it’s needed to do..and well, how to leave other things alone. I appreciate structure, but some of us were meant to defy structure and even reshape it.”

<Zoelie> “Like too many books, too many people…never enough time. Information is lost.” looks briefly really grim and sad about that then the expression is gone.”

<Zoelie> grins at cassian “Or bust it the hell up.”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “It’s our reality too..not just theirs, so yes, sometimes it deserves to even be busted the hell up.”

<Erin Summers> smiles as she glances between them and then gets up. “Ugh, I should probably get home. You guys take care though.”, she waves to Sparks and Zoelie before leaning over and hugging Cassian. “Night Zoe, Sparks, Doc.”

<Zoelie> “Night, Erin.”

Sparks: “Night Erin have a great night cutie pie.” she smirks and winks

■► Cassian ◄■ smiles and gives Erin a hug back. “Have a good night, Erin.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “So, what have you been up to, Zoelie?”

<Zoelie> half smirks “What I always am. Trying to think up new ways to stick it to the establishment, make a mark on the world that is positive before something snatches that chance away.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “So what is your biggest issue with the establishment? What are your targets?”

<Zoelie> “You really wanna know? People who get rich off of other people’s misery and suffering.”

<Zoelie> “Folks that think it’s ok to put a lifetime cap on insurance payments for medical conditions they don’t have any control over.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I did ask so yes, I tend to want to know if I make such efforts. I only pander and ask how people’s days are going when they are above me, if it matters to my work really, if i don’t care. Others tend to know I really don’t care.”

<Zoelie> chuckles “I ask because not everybody likes it when they light that fire in me. They don’t expect the answers and when I get going it’s hard to stop.”

<Zoelie> “It’s not just say, insurance company executives or something, although they do have a real special place in my heart.”

■► Cassian ◄■ smiles and leans back. “There’s nothing wrong with being passionate about some things, like these issues. Some of us can kind of play around them and have for a long while. Others must depend on these things to succeed at life, work, getting educations, furthering their lives and families..let alone the ability to just live, in some cases.”

<Zoelie> “it’s hospital administrators making more money than the gods they employ in the operating room.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “As a doctor who has done some of that stuff, oh I totally hear you there. Administrators also trying to make decisions they shouldn’t either… it’s always fun to explain why patients need certain things and why administrators, or insurance, shouldn’t get in the way.”

<Zoelie> nods “it’s like, you can save a little kid with all the life saving medicine and surgery and whatever. but not only is that kid going to grow up with the scars of the illness on them, everyone around them has to be in debt up to their eyeballs so some hospital administrator can play golf with the president on the weekends.”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “It’s true. I can’t deny that. There are always going to be people that judge what they think others should ‘need’ or ‘want’ when it comes to this sort of thing and money is a great way to force people to not get what they need, but others can. Administrators are kind of a joke anyway for the most part.”

<Zoelie> “Whether it’s schools or hospitals yeah I have to agree.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “It’s not that they aren’t important roles. Administration is for logical reasons of organization and all…but when they assume they can make choices for doctors and nurses who live the life every day and know what’s going on, there’s a problem. Of course the insurance doesn’t help with how they market certain medications to doctors and such

too and try to make deals to get their stuff used more. The whole system for marketing drugs is a sham.”

<Zoelie> “So what do you do when a hospital president tells you you can’t do some expensive treatment that someone needs?’

<Zoelie> “Oh yeah drugs like chemo.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I acquire them through other contacts or work through it myself in some manner that’s under the table and no one needs to know.”

<Zoelie> “I like you, Cassian. And that’s exactly how some other doctors I have known have done things. Problem is, they ain’t always all that savvy about it.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Well it’s not exactly always legal to do either, but when desperate, people find a way. I have a little leverage to it if I sometimes bend the truth on how essential it is to me. Best advice I can tell anyone in this field is to make allies and don’t be afraid to use one another, consistently. A network is a good thing to have.”

<Zoelie> smirks “Yeah a network.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Well I’m sure you will get one down here in your manner. Maybe you could assist with my concerns since they are yours as well too.. assisting in getting materials needed to aid those who are less fortunate. I am working up to running my own hospital/free clinic sort of thing, while maintaining other hospital contacts. Maybe you could assist

in some way through your networks.”

<Zoelie> looks intrigued “Oh you’ve actually thought this out!”

<Zoelie> “I’d help you.”

■► Cassian ◄■ smirks and looks off. He nods. “Yes, I have been thinking about it for various reasons. One, it gives a place if supernaturals get injured to come to in emergencies, or for others to bring people to who are broke and such, but the other reason is it allows me to manage it and secure my own hours and when I cannot work too, as well as others

with special needs, shall we say.”

<Zoelie> “Yeah I guess we got a lotta people with special needs.”

<Zoelie> “Do you have a place already scoped out for this clinic?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Well, some like me can’t work during the day, some have other requirements, or conditions that makes it so going to a regular hospital would put them in danger.”

<Zoelie> “or are you in the market?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I have the building I want. It’s being worked on currently to make it up to specs, so to say. After will be the employment..and you can help with files and administrative stuff if you’d like…to separate what goes where and what comes in and all and the security of the patients we have. I could use someone better at that computer security

than me.”

<Zoelie> nods vigorously “Yeah I got you.”

<Zoelie> then gives him the sideeye “oh i see what you did there.”

<Zoelie> “you wanna make mean administrator.”

■► Cassian ◄■ laughs. “Well, you know what to do and how to avoid falling into certain traps, yes? And you will look out for the patients’ well being while maintaining and understanding of what we are capable of. And..you can secure files and info so we can avoid people stealing from us.”

<Zoelie> “Yeah…i wouldn’t say i was an expert on insurance and stuff which brings me to the other question…are we just treating anybody who needs our particular type of special services for free? or is it gonna be like barter or something…what’s the rules?”

<Zoelie> “Hey I bet you know how to get that special kind of weed too.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “It depends. Can those people afford it? If not, then no, we will do a donation service to provide for those who cannot provide for themselves. Hopefully, those in groups of concern would consider donating since some acquired their wealths through just living for a long time or whatever.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “What else do you do for a living? Just curious.”

<Zoelie> shrugs “Professional student. Odds and ends, you know how it is.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “So running the game until you can’t go to school any longer? Well, it’s up to you if you want to do this venture, but it will get you out of your financial situation at least and you can still attend school.”

<Zoelie> raises her eyebrows “How is it going to get me out of my financial situation if we are basically doing stuff for people who can’t pay?”

<Zoelie> “I’m just curious.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Because there are people who can too.”

<Zoelie> chuckles “So we’re shakin down the rich boys to pay for everybody?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “And you hit the right backers and suppliers and things go well. There are people that like private work done as well, and they are willing to pay for extra security and care.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “Basically, the rich and privileged or special who do not want found out.”

<Zoelie> “Oh…right…yeah this is definitely an administrator job.”

<Zoelie> laughs

■► Cassian ◄■ “It is, and it won’t be easy sometimes, but in the end, you’ll learn a lot anyway and maybe save some people’s lives.’

<Zoelie> “I’d like that. I’m in. What you need from me first?”

<Zoelie> “Work on the computer network?”

■► Cassian ◄■ “That would be primary.. ONe network for the ‘regulars’ and to mask our other people using the system, and another with their info in it under the guise of something else.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “I want it all to be very secure so that one doesn’t look more important than the other, but on the same note, do extra work on that to ensure no one can get any kind of list ever.”

<Zoelie> “Like there’s no way to export a whole patient list.”

<Zoelie> “That what you mean?”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “Encrypted, and pseudo names that we can find out their real stuff ourselves but no one else can. If you have to use your mage skills to do it, do it. This is for your people’s safety as much as anyone else’s. Just of course be careful. We want to avoid the technocrats too with our little venture.”

<Zoelie> “yeah that’s pretty much the idea. i can do it. i have a few ideas already.”

<Zoelie> gets up “I’m gonna go work on that Cassian. You know how to reach me if you think of something else.”

■► Cassian ◄■ nods. “We will need to talk again. Also, I’ll need that mumbo jumbo resume of yours too to prove you are legit to hire or to see what i need to do.”

<Zoelie> blinks “Resume? for real?”

<Zoelie> purses her lips “Oooookay….I’ll get something whipped up.”

■► Cassian ◄■ “When you do something that’s potentially illegal ..which we will be to some degree, you make things look good. a few discrepencies here that are very minor so that you aren’t too perfect but otherwise, yes, we need to be impeccable.”

<Zoelie> “Alright…I’ll come up with something and then you can look at it, see if I’m hireable.”

<Zoelie> leaves because player has to go pass out

■► Cassian ◄■ gets up and heads out as well.
