Session Start: Mon Feb 27 00:00:00 2017
Session Ident: #Dark_Aeons

<@Aeon-Rook> <Zirathur> yawns lazily from his perch and climbs down presently in cat form. He then climbs his way up to Arthur’s shoulder.”I can scout it out for you after you feed me.”

<@Aeon-Rook> <Zirathur> “What happened to your plans to make drugs to sell to all the little children with Ramirez Arthur?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur looks down at his dragon friend,”Not nearly effective enough. I’ll need to target people’s dreams if I am going to make real changes. Although it may serve as a wonderful distraction from my real methods. People will need something to blame besides magic until I can get them all to believe.”

<@Aeon-Rook> <Zirathur> “What will you do with all of those dreams when you get them?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur smiles,”Blur the lines until they believe everything is a Dream. From there it will only be a matter of gathering enough Dreamers and unite them into a single Dream. Then by directing this Dream I can create a force to counterbalance the Dreamers and the Autumn people.”

<@Aeon-Rook> <Zirathur> “This means more food for me then?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur nods,”I suppose this would mean more food for you. It also means that you should have less issues travelling in your dragon form.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur puts the prop back down onto the stage.”We will see… maybe I can find more books to help me in my father’s study…”

<+Nickolas> Arthur is sitting at the edge of the theater with the cat form of Zirathur sitting on his shoulders. He is dressed in black today with golden celtic knots embroidered acrossed it. He seems to be contemplating his long platinum white hair flowing down his back.

<+MichaelM> Kara makes her way into the theatre, humming a pleasant hymn to herself as she goes. She makes sure to lock the door behind her, then tosses her satchel onto a nearby chair. She spots Arthur sitting in the theatre as well, and raises an eyebrow as he appears to dwell his hair. “Penny for your thoughts?” Kara asks as she makes her way over to one of the makeshift tables on the lower level.

<+Nickolas> Arthur looks up,”Oh Hello Kara. I’m just… thinking about the meaning of life… and renovations… and what do you think of my new threads?”

<+MichaelM> “I think your hair looks nice,” Kara answers. “I didn’t realize I was setting a trend when I went for a white dye-job, though.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur looks at Kara quizically…”Dye… my hair… what a novel idea. I couldn’t do with any ordinary hair dyes though I wouldn’t want to damage my luscious locks… perhaps you could magic something up for me? Like some Blue or Green highlights would be amazing! Maybe even glowing!”

<+MichaelM> “I…could?” Kara furrows her brow looking puzzled. “But dyes would be much easier, and you can get stuff that doesn’t harm your hair. A proper stylist would do a much better job of it. There’s also the whole ‘we could get erased from existence if we use our powers too overtly’ think.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur sighs,”Yeah but just… tell everyone it’s science… like it was made with nuclear waste or something.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur waves his hands through the air and draws out the word,”Scieence.” As if it’s magic.

<+MichaelM> “Okay, first off, let’s not lie to our friends,” Kara says with mock sternness. “Secondly, let’s pick believable lies. Thirdly, I am a forensic scientist, not a nuclear engineer or physicist.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur smiles and laughs,”A little white lie or some uranium never hurt anybody right?”

<+MichaelM> Kara’s expression turns more seriously stern towards Arthur. “Wrong. On both counts, as it happens.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur begins laughing crazily.”Well it’s only ‘imaginary’ uranium so that means I only get ‘imaginary’ cancer. The superpowers are totally real though.”

<+MichaelM> Kara reaches up and rubs her temples with a soft sigh. “Yes. I’m sure that explanation will completely satisfy everyone. Nobody has ever heard of, nor will consider, Occam’s Razor.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur nods,”This is quite true… but who is Occam? Is his Razor magical?”

<+MichaelM> Kara looks back up at Arthur, her brow furrowed in puzzlement. “You can quite Sheakspeare ad nauseam, but you don’t know Occam’s Razor?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur blinks and groans,”Did he write plays or poetry?”

<+MichaelM> “No,” Kara admits. “He was a philosopher and theologian. Occam’s Razor is the idea that the simplest solution to a problem is usually the best. It’s used in literature design quite often. At least,” Kara admits, “my younger brother keeps saying so. But he writes occult penny dreadfuls for a living, so who knows?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur pretends to start falling asleep at the end of her speech.”Oh yes good, you’re done? Oh Penny Dreadfuls you say? I do so love that show.”

<+MichaelM> “No, not the show. I mean the kind of books,” Kara corrects, then sighs to herself. “Just…nevermind.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur,”Ah, Nevermind… how about Neverland instead?”

<+MichaelM> “I feel like I’m going to regret asking,” Kara mutters, then says more loudly; “what about Neverland?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur smiles like the cheschire cat,”Nevermore.”

<+MichaelM> “So you’ve gone from PJ. M. Barrie to Edgar Allen Poe?” Kara asks, still puzzled. “Are you supposed to be making sense right now?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur laughs again,”No, but you’re making me wish I had a hat to wear. Let’s go for a walk and go get one. A very big hat.”

<+MichaelM> “Arthur,” Kara’s head tilts to the side as she examines him more critically, “have you been sampling any more…illicit substances today?”

<+Nickolas> Arthur eyes her seriously,”No, I swear I haven’t. I don’t really need to, fae blood and all that. Honestly all that stuff is kind of banal without enchantment or friends to do it with at a minimum. After all, it’s not the drug that’s fun, it’s the excuse to act crazy.”

<+MichaelM> Kara raises a palm to her face and takes a deep, calming breath for a moment before returning her hand to her side. “Okay. Now explain to me why you need to buy a hat.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur looks at her seriously,”Is it not obvious in its own right? How am I to be a mad hatter without a hat? Then I’ll be simply mad.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur says this while looking at her like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

<+MichaelM> “Alright,” Kara relents, “fine. I give up trying to understand what happens in your head. I swear, you’re crazier than I am.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur laughs,”That’s the point. Did you even think you could compete with me? I grew up with pixies and in a court of elves and gnomes. My father performed experiments on me, taught me magic, and has since gone figuratively and possibly literally off the deep end.”

<+MichaelM> “That really shouldn’t be a competition you try and win, Arthur,” Kara cautions.

<+Nickolas> Arthur smiles and laughs,”Well if sanity is all about hard lines, doing chores and a general feeling of ennui, I think I will pass.”

<+MichaelM> “For one,” Kara begins, her tone that of a lecturer, “there are hard lines that should never be crossed. That’s the very basic principle of morality comes from. For two, chores are often necessary, and neglecting them often creates more work in the end. Not everything in life can be fun all the time. And three, ennui isn’t either a requirement or an effect of sanity. It’s the product of lifestyle choices, and isn’t directly tied to mental health.”

<+Nickolas> Arthur yawns,”Or we can party and get other people to clean up after our messes. That’s father’s job.”

<+MichaelM> “That is…” Kara pauses, searching for the right term, “a horribly inconsiderate attitude.”
