<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> is currently managing the people who are trying to take shelter from the storm. There are candles all spread out for lighting, and there are a wide range of different people and even a few animals inside the main room of the small church. Children can be heard crying now and then as thunder crashes hard enough to rattle the old stained glass windows.

<+MichaelM> Kara hurriedly makes her way into the church, her poncho not doing much to dampen the chill, and the winds to high for her umbrella. She ducks inside and allows herself a moment to catch her breath. Shivering slightly, she takes in the interior of the church.

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> passes out some little cookies to the crying children and looks up when the door opens, spying Kara. The place is warm inside and though a bit crowded, everyone seems to be getting along fine. There are blankets being passed out, as well as some fruit and bread.

<+MichaelM> “Father?” Kara asks tentatively, clutching her coat a bit more tightly toward her as she steps forward, “Father Thomas?”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> moves forward looking at Kara curiously. “Are you alright?”

<+MichaelM> “Yes. Sorry, Father,” She glances around again, “I was coming to receive reconciliation, but it seems you have many more pressing issues.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> gently pats her on the shoulder and ushers her a little more away from the crowd. “It is rather busy with the outage, and no offense, but I didn’t figure you for the type. What’s really on your mind?”

<+MichaelM> “Well, it seemed like it would be a good time.” Kara glances around once more to make sure the others are either to occupied or out of earshot, “and I wanted to talk to you about what you said to Cornel earlier.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> nods his head softly. “And I am not opposed if you decide you wish to do that later. As for Cornel… and his… prisoner. I know of no other way to put it.”, she says in a hushed tone and obviously upset. “That girl, I know what she is. He can’t hide that from me. To keep her there against her will is not only sacriligious, it’s dangerous.”

<+MichaelM> “Sacrilegious…” Kara looks up at Father Thomas, puzzled, “Father, what do you mean? What…who is being kept there?”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> looks at her and sighs. “He has a Nephilim there in that Lab.”

<+MichaelM> “A…Nephilim?” Kara looks confused for a momnet, then her eyes widen. “A Nephilim? He has a Nephilim in the labs?”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> nods, still with his concerned, slightly angry look. “Yes. I have told him to set her free many times now but he will not listen. He never listens.”

<+MichaelM> “How? Why?” Kara sputters, caught between fury and bafflement, “what justification could they possibly have for something like this?”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> “Well, first off, they don’t know. Cornel does… I have told him. But the others are not aware. His excuse is that it is not human and therefore no harm is being done.”, he frowns deeper, and casts his gaze off toward the doors as an especially close bolt of lightning casts all kinds of shapes in the room from the stained glass… For a moment, the image of

<@Nox_Aegis> Gabriel above them glows brightly.

<+MichaelM> “That’s…” Kara sputters again for a moment, then throws up her hands. “I can’t even begin to comprehend how many reasons that argument is flawed!” Kara hisses furiously.

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> nods his head solemnly. “I am in agreement with you. There is nothing right about what he is doing. He claims the knowledge gained will save lives… I am not so sure. No good can come of that.”

<+MichaelM> “I…” Kara brushes a hand against her temple, momentarily dizzy. “I think I’m going to need some time to reflect on this.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> pats her gently on the shoulder again. “He is… not as he seems. I am sorry to be the one to tell you this. But the fact that you see it on your own is good. Very good. Most of them don’t. A side effect of the vampire blood he uses to stop his aging, I believe.”

<+MichaelM> “What.” Kara snaps, her anger returning in full force. “He’s doing what?”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> nods his head. “He is well over a hundred years old. He’s been taking blood from vampires and drinking it in order to stay young.”

<+MichaelM> “He…and he never…” Kara mutters in disbelief, then smacks her forehead. “Of course he’s never told me. I’ve been such an idiot.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> smiles and glances up at the angelic image in the glass a moment. “Stay away from the Lab. I sense something terrible is about to happen there.”

<+MichaelM> “Something terrible?” Kara glances up at the same glass image. “Oh.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> sighs. “I have warned him… given the storm most of the people should be at home who are not directly involved, so I will pray that is the case and they are spared.”

<+MichaelM> “In that case, I need to go,” Kara tightens her coat once more, “I have friends out in the storm who need warning.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> nods his head and takes her to the back door. “Go then. And if you need a safe place, please come back here.”

<+MichaelM> “I will.” Kara offers a faint, but very nervous, smile. “I shall have to receive Reconciliation some other time, then.”

<@Nox_Aegis> <Father Thomas> smiles softly. “And in some other form perhaps. I will see you again soon.”

<+MichaelM> “Yes. Peace be with you, Father.” Kara smiles, genuinely this time, and makes her way back towards the door.
